While graphite drawing is central to my core practice, my current work explores the relationship between this traditional medium and digital process. The aim of such works is to firstly, break the artificial boundary between art & technology and, secondly, to develop new, highly interactive artworks using plastics and technologies such as Virtual Reality, EEG, and mobile apps in order to engage and provoke the viewer’s own creative and aesthetic impulses. The integration of traditional drawing techniques with contemporary fabrication technologies is necessary and allows for
limitless possibilities. Though research into the use of digital technology in art, I have experimented with a number of materials, embedding the technology into them and aiming to convert the usually two dimensional flat surface of a screen into a more sculptural and visceral form.
