As an experimental artist primarily working on larger canvases, my work aims to warp the ordinary expectations of painting and mixed media, in the hope of making new discoveries. I began using paint and combining unusual materials into the paint, but I have now expanded to a wider range of materials that extend beyond paint alone. I still consider myself a painter, and my works that are not made using paint, I still consider paintings. My work aims to demonstrate how one can perform the act of painting with all kinds of media. Today, I have a new found love for tool making, and destruction in art where I strip away what I worked on building up, to see what is left behind. This has opened me up to new methods of application to the canvas, such as shooting it and hitting it with a hammer to create tears and breakage.
