My practice uses everyday objects and materials to make sculpture and installations. The functional, useful nature of thrown away household items has lead to the use of second hand objects, and helps highlight our hyper-consumerist culture. Through constructing installations I attempt to find interesting new ways of putting things together, which playfully re-present objects and materials in ways not normally seen. Transformation is a key part of my work, which includes manipulation and modification, making source materials unrecognizable and giving vitality to tired, worn objects. Building on this, Surrealism has led to a different approach to assembling and displaying my work.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Colour creates mood and emotion, and helps the audience view the piece as intended. Some recent work has also looked at current social issues.
