My work is a reaction to questions raised within 21st century existentialist philosophy. I allow the work to delve into a visual exploration of form and pattern which itself questions the attainability of direct control through the authors hand. The various outputs all partake in familiar artist led processes often using purposefully simplistic mediums and surfaces of application to aid visual illustration. My aim was to commit as an artist into a role reversal from the subjective character within the formation of a piece to the objective target – bound within the constraints oneself determines in the process at hand. The work thus functions as intended though both evolves and unravels independently of predetermined perceptions and judgments. This allows the work to exist past these self-predictable algorhythms. These are the paintings that paint would paint if paints were able to do paintings.
