Georgina’s works are photographic representation’s of the form of her own mother. The work highlights one of the most natural changes the body can encounter, in particular the skin. By confronting the viewer with this image, the social ideology of beauty and body image are taken into question.

The way that the body can mould itself with the changes that come in our lives is of interest, as is the personal relationship that she has with the sitter. The abstraction of the body reduces the suggestion of human form and leaves you with a close inspection of the scars, with the intention of highlighting the intriguing beauty within.
