I have studied the human form and observed how different people act and react around others. From this I have noticed the ‘cover’ that people use to hide themselves, creating a barrier from the truth of what they are, and what they choose to show to others. People mask their natural appearance to create something new or to hide what lies beneath.

I have focused this project on muscle build, photographing men who exercise to extremes to producea muscular, male body. To further enhance these images, I have added ‘muscle’ beneath the skin, drawn on in red pen to highlight the image with a natural colour, adding feelings of anger and warmth.
