‘Real’ – 2015 Cambridge School of Art Degree Show Branding

Alongside Philip Gardner, I worked as a design team for our final major project, creating the Cambridge School of Art Degree Show 2015 branding, ‘Real‘.

The concept of the project was to portray the disciplines we all use within the Art School: Surface, Space, Moment, Motion. By using elements of gestaltism and connecting words that lead the viewer toward their own interpretation, we tried to intellectualise the branding and give viewers the opportunity to reinterpret the imagery multiple times.

Our design ethic and style have been heavily influenced from spending six months in the Netherlands on exchange and touring Germany.

Our influences from around Europe became the primary inspiration behind the Cambridge School of Art Degree Show branding.
This was applied to the fashion show and film screening events where we created bespoke imagery and products each. ‘Reel’ was chosen for the screening branding after a request from them to inject the witty pun into their show.

You can see the range of products produced for this year’s degree show below.
